Volunteering

Young Volunteers

Volunteering is a great way to develop confidence, skills and experience.  The benefits gained from volunteering offer a stepping-stone towards further education, training and/or employment.

Young people can search our full range of volunteering opportunities here, although many of these opportunities involve volunteers over 16 years old.  For further information about volunteering and opportunities, contact us or pop along to our weekly drop-in.

Transform

Transform, delivered directly by Volunteer Midlothian, is a fully supported and supervised volunteering project for young people aged 14-25 years old.  It offers an excellent introduction to volunteering for young people who might feel a bit shy, lack confidence, have support needs, or would prefer to volunteer alongside a friend.

Saltire Awards

The Saltire Awards are the Scottish Government’s way of celebrating youth volunteering across Scotland.  Any young person between 12-25 years old who is volunteering should register for Saltire Awards to receive formal recognition for their volunteering contribution.
