Home Link Family Support Volunteer Training Course

Published on 8 January 2014 Categories: Opportunity,  Training

New to volunteering? Home Link have a great 3-day training course in March 2014. It will give you all the skills to become a really effective volunteer to support local families with young children.

Sometimes life with young children is a bit of a struggle. Home Link volunteers visit families for 2 hours a week to play, get out to the park, listen to parents and give them more confidence. Generally to make life more fun!

You don’t need any experience you just need to be over 18, open minded and kind-hearted.

You will be supported by a Project Worker and your expenses will be reimbursed.  Home Link also offer lots of further optional training in PEEP, Play@Home, First Aid, Mental Health and more.

One of the current volunteers says: "It feels good to know that by giving up a couple of hours of my time each week, I can provide real support for a family. Not only that, but I get a great deal of satisfaction from my volunteering, and really look forward to each visit!"

Home Link would love to hear from you. For further information, contact Jane Ellis by telephone: 0131 661 0890 or email: jane.e@homelinkfamilysupport.org or have a look at the website: www.homelinkfamilysupport.org
