Support and Advice for Volunteers

You can get support and advice about volunteering in a number of ways:

If you know what you want to do you can access information about volunteering opportunties by searching our on-line database.

If you would like to find out more about what’s involved in volunteering and get some advice on the opportuntiiy that’s right for you then contact an adviser. Call us on 0131 663 6165 or use the contact form.

If you feel you would need more one-to-one support to get into volunteering then see the information about our Volunteer Support Worker.

We can help by:

  • Exploring if volunteering is right for you
  • Giving you information about opportunities available
  • Matching you up with a suitable group or organisation
  • Helping you to contact the organisation you are interested in
  • Arranging a ‘taster’ of volunteering if you are not sure of what you would like to try
  • Accompanying you the first time you go to your place of volunteering
  • Helping you through the application process
  • Giving people with families information about support they may be entitled to.

If you, or someone you know would like to volunteer but are unsure where to start, then get in touch. People can sometimes be unsure about volunteering because they:

  • lack confidence
  • don’t know enough about what’s involved in volunteering
  • have a disability or health issues
  • have not been in paid work for a long time
  • have to consider childcare

If so, please contact us to see what extra support we are able to offer or see our pages about our Volunteer Support Worker or Youth Worker.
