Support into Volunteering

Our Health & Wellbeing Coordinator provides help and support to those with mental health difficulties. Volunteering can help improve mental health and can be an excellent way of getting back into employment. This is a friendly service offering flexible help - with no pressure - based on the needs of the individual. Information and advice on all aspects of volunteering is available plus one-to-one support.

Preparing to Volunteer

A “Preparing to Volunteer” course is held locally twice a year for those who need time to think about their options. This special 4-week course is designed to help people find out more about volunteering. The course is delivered in a friendly, supportive environment. There is no commitment to go on to volunteer at the end of this course. This free course covers topics such as:

  • What is volunteering?
  • What makes a good volunteer?
  • Volunteers rights & responsibilities
  • Moving on ... the next step
