Volunteer Support Worker

Our Volunteer Support Worker provides help and support to those affected by mental health issues. Volunteering can help improve mental health and can be an excellent way of getting back into employment. This is a friendly service offering flexible help - with no pressure - based on the needs of the individual. Information and advice on all aspects of volunteering is available plus one-to-one support.

Preparing to Volunteer

A “Preparing to Volunteer” course is held locally twice a year for those who need time to think about their options. This free course covers topics such as:

  • Volunteers' right and responsibilities
  • Making a safe start
  • Understanding local opportunities
  • Problem solving and managing stress
  • Welfare benefits

Getting in Touch

The Volunteer Support Worker can help you to decide whether volunteering is right for you and then offer the support you need to succeed. Appointments can be made to meet at any mutually convenient location within Midlothian. The Support Worker can be contacted at the following times:

Monday - 1.00-4.30 pm
Tuesday & Thursday - 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
