Training

Welcome to Volunteer Centre Midlothian's training pages. We are committed to helping volunteer involving organisations in Midlothian deliver the best volunteer management practice possible.

If you are looking for information on any issue of volunteer management you will find a range of information in the Resources section of the website which give guidance on key volunteer management issues.

We also offer formal training opportunities:

Making the Most of Volunteering: 10 steps to successful volunteer involvement
From why have volunteers through recruitment to how to keep volunteers. We briefly cover the reasons for involving volunteers; writing role descriptions; recruitment; selection and screening; induction; training; support and supervision; recognising and valuing volunteers; counselling out and exit/long tem retention: a real whistle-stop tour of volunteer management.

The session normally takes 2- 3 hours and can be delivered either at your premises or, if not convenient, in the Volunteer Centre training room.

We endeavour to keep costs to a minimum and only charge £20 for this session for Midlothian based organisations.
